The Court Case

I had just woken after this inspiration.

Where had it come from?

What association did I have before this?

What brought this on?

All I can say was that it was clear. As if I was standing there and experiencing it in person.

I found myself seated among some 150 others.

Many wearing a dark blue blazer with an emblem over their breast pocket.

I quickly worked out this was the school colors.

I was wearing a long-sleeved pullover in a grey-green shade,

Just by this alone I was feeling out of place.

We were all sitting there with today’s paper.

The person at the front of the room was a woman,

Standing tall, looks like she could be in her sixties, wearing a monochromatic outfit,

She quickly brought the room to order, and all was still.

She posed a situation and then asked a question,

The papers were being looked at to search out an adequate answer,

After an answer was given, another question was asked.

The room was quiet.

Then a person to my left answered the question with ’they left’.

We were all asked to demonstrate this and so all stood up and left the room.

The group was milling around in the courtyard talking about what had transpired.

I went to sit in a vacant bench nearby and looked again in the paper,

When I look up everyone in the courtyard had gone.

I thought, what had happened, I had not heard the call to return,

I pick up my things and at a fair clip without running I re-enter through the big glass doors.

I pass by the head of school and acknowledge her standing just inside the door.

I look up to view the room and notice the seating had changed.

Also the layout had changed and there were now only about 40 seats.

I wondered how the room could be so quickly rearranged.

I looked down and noticed that I was wearing the same pullover,

I realized that this was a class for people who intended to study law.

I felt very out classed and out of my depth.

I wondered what were the mechanisms used, to change the room so quickly?

Was the room rotated out and a different one in or,

Was the new room lowered in from above?

I contemplated the situation and realized that this was a test,

The head of school had devised this process to weed out those who were less interested, then leaving those who did not mind being challenged,

To be able to view things from a different perspective.

Then I thought how come I am studying law I am more interested in engineering.

Hang on that was just a dream.
